J. Ari Swiller


Mr. Swiller is partner and co-founder of the Renewable Resources Group (RRG), a company specializing in the acquisition and management of agricultural and water assets and businesses as well as the development of utility scale renewable energy projects.  Currently, RRG’s portfolio includes over 80,000 acres of farmland in California and Arizona for the purpose of water, renewable energy and agriculture development.  In December 2012, RRG sold the fully permitted site for the world’s largest photovoltaic development (600+ MW) to Berkshire Hathaway’s MidAmerican Energy.  RRG permitted the project in the Antelope Valley, CA in partnership with SunPower (NASDAQ: SPWR).  In 2013, RRG completed the successful acquisition of Sun World International, LLC (SWI).  SWI is renowned for growing, marketing and breeding premium seedless grapes, sweet peppers, stone fruits and other distinctive fruits and vegetables as well as owning land and water assets in the San Joaquin Valley, CA and the Coachella Valley, CA.  In August 2014, the firm purchased a couple of thousand acres of date property in the Coachella Valley, CA and Bard Valley, AZ.  This acquisition makes RRG one of the largest growers, packers and processors of dates in the United States.  Additionally, RRG owns and manages almond and pistachio orchards in California. From 1997-2003, prior to founding RRG, Mr. Swiller was a Principal at The Yucaipa Companies.  He began his career in Washington, DC as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill and on the presidential campaigns of William J. Clinton. Currently, Mr. Swiller serves on the board of Falcon Waterfree Technologies which promotes conservation of the Earth\'s fresh water supply by developing waterless urinal systems as well as other sustainable resource technology.  He also serves on the boards of the Miguel Contreras Educational Foundation and the Los Angeles Conservation Corps, the largest urban youth corps in the nation. Mr. Swiller earned a B.A. from Cornell University.
