Nick Wzientek

Vice President of Operations Research and Analytics

Nick Wzientek oversees Operations Analysis which includes the implementation and design of all data science-driven operational improvements and capabilities.  Mr. Wzientek’s methods encompass a wide range of problem-solving techniques applied in the pursuit of improved decision-making and efficiency, such as simulation, mathematical optimization, queueing theory and other stochastic-process models, Markov decision processes, econometric methods, data envelopment analysis, neural networks, expert systems, decision analysis, and the analytic hierarchy process. Previously, Mr. Wzientek held senior analytical roles for Vistar, a $3 billion distributor and merchandiser of consumer product goods.  Prior to Vistar, he was the Director of Enterprise Analytics at The Sports Authority, leading a multifaceted team responsible for transforming data into insight for making decisions across all retail domains including marketing, e-commerce, finance, real estate, merchandising, and operations.  Prior to The Sports Authority, Mr. Wzientek was a Senior Operations Research Analyst with Booz Allen Hamilton, Bearing Point, and the US Air Force.  Mr. Wzientek is a Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) from the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS).  He has a B.S. in Operations Research from the United States Air Force Academy and a M.S. in Operations Research from Southern Methodist University.
