Robert Wagner serves as Vice President of Mining Operations for RMR, and is responsible for overseeing all mine related functions including mine planning, permitting, safety, operations, and regulatory compliance. In addition, Mr. Wagner plays a key role in evaluating potential mining investment opportunities. Mr. Wagner started his mining career as a Mining Engineer for Arch Coal. Mr. Wagner handled design and scheduling responsibilities for 40 million tons of annual coal production at Arch’s Black Thunder coal mine in Wyoming’s Powder River Basin. In his role as a Production Supervisor, he co-managed a crew of 220 employees in their daily operations, resulting in the removal of 55 million cubic yards of overburden and 25 million tons of coal annually. Mr. Wagner served as the Director of Process Improvement at three different Arch Coal mines; leading to improvements and cost reductions in production, maintenance, supply chain, and mine safety. Most recently, Mr. Wagner was an Executive Manager at First ECA Midstream, a natural gas midstream company with $280 million of pipeline and compression assets in the Appalachian region of Pennsylvania and West Virginia. In this role, he was responsible for managing business operations, budgeting, customer/contractor/equity partner relations, and business development. Additionally, Mr. Wagner introduced cost reduction and system efficiency initiatives, and project managed $5 million worth of pipeline facility construction projects. Mr. Wagner holds a B.S. in Mining Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, and an MBA in Project Management from Colorado Christian University. He is a Registered Professional Mining Engineer.
